Apple, you fail me yet again.

Thank you iTunes and all the iWhatevers for constantly ruining my life.

Yes this is a post about first world problems. So yes, I know that many people do not have an iWhatever, but I really have to talk about this. Apple is pretty not-user-friendly when it comes to the syncing and whatnot with the computer.

Today started out great. I went for another walk to Keppel Island. And took loads of photos. I walked to Vivo to meet my mum, found out that I increased a cup size (haha wth). I came home, resynced my iTouch, did some project work. Mummy bought nasi bryani and murtabak. It was really yummy and I took pictures, intending to post it.

BUT, Apple has to be an ass, and make life difficult for all of us.

  1. How to remove old contacts from the email app? Otherwise known as the Autofill Email Addresses- This has been unanswered by the Apple staff. I searched countless forums since a long time ago, and I didn't get much information. Apparently millions of people with iWhatevers are facing the same problem too! One of the person's post on a non-Apple forum says that he even went down to the Apple store to get this problem solved, and all the staff did was to restore his iPhone, leading to some loss of information, and the problem wasn't even solved! So what I did, leading to COMPLETE LOSS OF MY PHOTOS, was to go to Settings-> General-> Reset-> Erase All Content and Settings, then restart my iTouch as a NEW iPod Touch as a whole. The Apple ID is the same. Well sure, I might have had it coming, and I should have copied all my 300 over photos out of my iTouch first, but how inconvenient is it to have to always "Erase All Content and Settings" whenever you want to delete an email address that you don't want popping up all the time? Many of the people on the forums claim that they have a 10 year old email address that still pops up when typing in the "To:" part when composing an email. Well maybe that is the case but I'm sure many people were also trying to hide who they had emailed from other people. Whatever the case, it is really frustrating that there is no easier solution to this problems which millions are facing. The best part is that the solutions are coming from people not from Apple. Anyways, all my pictures and videos from the past month are gone, so wordy and ugly posts are to follow.
  2. How to delete unwanted contact groups from the contacts app? This has been bugging me ever since I was being clever with my iTouch and trying to add contacts into it. Yes, it's definitely my fault for being so dumb but oh my god, it is so difficult to remove the unwanted groups! Originally I added a group called "Baby", intending to put my boyfriend's contact details inside. Then I realised why the hell did I need a GROUP for ONE PERSON?! So months and months passed.. More than a year later, when I was forced to update to IOS 5, which is great honestly with all the iMessage and stuff, iCloud became the bane of my existence. Yes sure, the advertisement seems so cute and convenient, where the two sons of this man typed in treats they wanted from the supermarket into his shopping list. But honestly, it's more annoying to me than anything. Thanks to iCloud, I could not delete my unwanted contact group for nuts! Scouring countless forums, I finally chanced upon the solution by Allan Sampson on omg, the Apple forum. Basically, iCloud backs everything up on the 5GB space you have. Original thread HERE. Go to me.com, sign in blah blah, set up your iCloud if you haven't already done it, click on the Contacts app icon, and DELETE THE GROUP/ CONTACT YOU DON'T WANT. And refresh your contacts in your iWhatever and be happy.

Yup that's it. I'm still really peeved that all my photos and videos are gone. Yes I should have copied it into my hard drive, but no, I wasn't expecting such an elaborate and laborious solution to a simple task - deleting autofill email addresses and unwanted contact groups.

Guess what! I actually did copy the yesterday and today's worth of photos! So I do have something to post.

From yesterday's (failed) run/ walk:
This is my *dream* house. Gone are the days when I was younger (yes youngER cause I'm still young) and my dream house was a landed property with two storeys and a garden. It all sparked off because I dreamt of this amazing dreamy garden. It still is really nice but oh well I would much prefer this now. I think my dream house has to be near the sea. Anyway. We'll see.
Was walking back from Keppel Island to my house when we had to cross he road. And we saw this. I had to tou pai (something I'm actually really good at) cause I didn't want any negative reactions. We take for granted so many things and out of so many things is this - that someone had to paint all the markings on the roads for you. I had always thought they were painted by machines but oh my, this poor man has to bend his back for god knows how many kilometres just to paint these safety markings for us.
Cooked this for dinner yesterday (or the day before since it's already the 23rd). Quite a failure. Cause the noodles broke off and left us with bloated sausages. But the sauce was mmmmmm. Copied the recipe from baby into my small whatever notebook.

From today:
I think this guy could possibly be the same guy who was painting at the Tanjong Pagar railway tracks. Possibly. He's really good.
It's so insane how everything seems so nice here.. They said the grass is greener on the other side.. They also said not to envy.. But here, the water is bluer.. Though a little weirdly blue since just across the bridge the water is brown. But who cares.. This place is so dreamy and nice. I love it. I'm going to come here every chance I get.

Oh and did you know Page One has extended its closing date till 23rd February? Which is.. Today. Hmm. Yeah. Didn't know, when we walked past I had to go in for the last time. One, cause I wanted to get another dream dictionary, the one I bought doesn't list the dreams the way I prefer; and two, it is hands down the nicest bookshop I have ever seen and been too. Going to miss it.
So yeah, bought last minute stuff. The total cost in this picture was I think 16$? The bracelet was from Forever 21, not Page One. And I don't care if people think it looks ugly I like it, and it's back in stock after years, and with more colours, so yeah I think I waited long enough. The book was originally 20.28$. So after a 70% discount, it became like 6 bucks. Totally worth it..

Also forgot to mention that the nice bra sales lady gave me a pair of push up padding for free. Even though she wasn't supposed to. Haha yes everyone likes free stuff, no?

Okay I think I've somewhat calmed down after the whole wiping out of my pictures and videos thing. Off to bed! Midterms are coming. Quarter-prepared.
