Sometimes it's not good to overlook things. It makes your heart ache, makes you worry for no reason. It's difficult not to look too much into things, because in the world we live in, everything is about hidden meanings, reading between the lines and everything-is-representative-of-something. In school, we learn this "skill", such that we become experts at it. In Literature, we are taught the hidden meanings behind the words used. In English or GP, we are taught to read between the lines to look for deeper meaning so that we can "evaluate what the author/ writer says". In Art or Geography (from what I've learnt recently) or even things like fashion, everything we draw or paint or even the colour has to be representative of something. For example, "the colour red is used, to represent passion.." And if it doesn't represent something, it is deemed to be pointless and worthless. Honestly, is this what we are getting at? When we argue that school is pointless and doesn't prepare us for the future, teachers and parents rebutt by saying that it prepares us for the world. The world? What world? The world that is so convoluted and complex that what we want now is simplicity instead of hidden agendas and you-have-to-read-between-the-lines-to-know-what-I'm-getting-at. Honestly, I've had enough with my brain that has been so well-trained and equipped with constantly searching for deeper meanings to anything, like what someone says or does. Because all it takes is this over-activity and over-thinking to completely ruin your life.
